Background
Darrell McQuade was a devoted father, loving husband, compassionate audiologist, and fierce believer in the power of education. After a four-year battle with Stage 4 cancer, Darrell passed away on August 19, 2025, at just 48 years old. Though his life was cut far too short, his unwavering commitment to his family and to helping others, lives on through this scholarship fund.
This memorial fund was created to honor Darrell’s deepest wish: to ensure that his two daughters, Harper and Lillian, would have the opportunity to pursue higher education, and that other children facing similar hardships could be given the same chance.
Darrell believed that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves access to education, whether it’s college, trade school, or a specialized program. He often spoke about how financial barriers shouldn't stand in the way of a young person’s future. That belief is at the heart of this fund.
This scholarship will first support Harper and Lillian, Darrell’s daughters, as they begin their own journeys toward higher education. As the fund grows, it will expand to help other children whose parents are battling or have lost their lives to Stage 4 cancer, providing relief, hope, and opportunity during incredibly difficult times.
Each year, at least one scholarship will be awarded in Darrell’s name. Through your support, his legacy of love, learning, and resilience will live on, not only through his children, but in every life this fund touches.
Thank you for helping us carry Darrell’s light forward. Contribute
