Darrell's obituary

Darrell Eugene Love, age 32, of Haysville, KS, passed away on December 5, 2019. He was born in Wichita, KS to Donald C. Love and Donna J. (Turner) Love on September 27, 1987. He is survived by long-term girlfriend and fiancé Jordan Wehrley.
Darrell’s mother Donna J. Love of Haysville, KS preceded him in death.
Darrell is survived by his father, Donald C. Love of Rosehill, KS; two sisters, Annette (Jeffrey) Luckett of Helena, MT, Angela (Anthony) Aragon of Wichita; three brothers, Donald (Courtney) Love, II of Clearwater, Daniel (Elise Brito) Love of Cheyenne, WY, David Love of Valencia, CA; niece, Tiffani Luckett; nine nephews, Kody Robertson, Bryce Norris, Colton, Noah, Ethan, Logan, Aden, Ian, and Asher Love and several cousins.
Darrell was a resident of Haysville, KS for many years. He attended school in Wellington, KS and graduated High School in Au Gres, MI. He served as a U.S. Army Private First Class in Kuwait and Iraq, then finished his service in the Kansas Army Reserves. During his service he received the following military decorations for his service; Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal Campaign Star, Army Service Ribbon, and Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M Device. He has served his fellow veterans and been an active member of the VFW Post 6957 for the last three years and was elected Junior Vice Commander of the VFW Post 6957, in Haysville, KS. He was short haul truck driver for Hoffman Trucking and S&J Enterprise over the last three years.
Darrell was an avid motorcycle rider, loved to sing Karaoke, dance and put a smile on other people’s faces. Family and friends (most of whom he considered as family) were very important to him. He was always willing to mow his brother’s lawn, fix someone’s car, do household repairs, help wrangle his nephews for Courtney, talk into the wee hours with his sister, or cook for family and friends for a gathering. His energy, smile and giving spirit to make someone else’s day better is greatly missed, yet cherished and remembered.
Celebration of Life will be held from 4 PM to 8 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Haysville VFW. Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Monday January 13, 2020 at St. Anthony-St. Rose Catholic Church in Wellington, KS. Burial will follow at 1:30 PM at Kansas Veterans Cemetery in Winfield, KS.
In lieu of flowers or gifts the family would greatly appreciate donations to your favorite veterans' charity or monetary donations to help offset the cost of funeral expenses. There is a donation jar located at VFW Post 6957, in Haysville, KS.
