Darrell's obituary
In Loving Memory of Darrell Dewayne Holder
December 14, 1965 – April 26, 2025
Darrell Dewayne Holder, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on December 14, 1965, in Dallas, Texas, Darrell brought strength, humor, and a steadfast heart into the world. At the age of 17, he moved to Florida, where fate brought him together with the love of his life, Rhonda Gail.
Darrell was a master carpenter by trade but also a natural-born teacher, mentor, and leader. Known for his tireless work ethic, sharp wit, and unshakable perseverance, he was the kind of man who showed up (satisfaction, guaranteed!)—ready to help, ready to build, and always ready to make someone laugh.
He was preceded in death by his cherished wife Rhonda, his father Gerald Holder, and his sister Sheila Holder.
Darrell leaves behind a legacy of love through his children: Gina Rudd, Nathaniel Holder, and Sheila Holder; nine grandchildren who brought him endless pride: Precision McCulley, James Rudd Jr., Jacob Rudd, Jordan Barwick, Jaden Barwick, Caelyn Holder, Kenzlei Holder, Novalei Holder, and Nyah Williams; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Baylor and Lila. He is also survived by his mother, Toni Holder; his siblings Alan Holder, Gina Holder, and Kim Norman; and a host of extended family and lifelong friends—including his dear friend James Carter—who will carry forward his spirit and memory.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Masonic Lodge, located at 50 Ochlockonee Street in Crawfordville, Florida. All who knew Darrell are welcome to attend.
