On Thursday, June 25, 2020, Darrell Gibson, one of three brothers and father of two children, passed away at the age of fifty-five.

Darrell was born on March 6, 1965 in Richmond, CA to Dan, Sr. and Emma Nell Gibson. He earned his Associates degree in Computer Science from Lawton Business College, and then continued to repair and upgrade computers for the majority of his life thereafter.

Darrell also had a passion for customizing classic bicycles, as he had a natural talent for knowing how gears and mechanisms worked; a skill passed down from his father. Darrell was a great sketch artist, and used to create his own cartoon characters. He was known for his acts of kindness, and genuine compassion towards his friends. He will be remembered for his positive spirit, and his ability to tell a great story.

Darrell was preceded in death by his father, Dan, Sr., and his mother Emma Nell. He is survived by his two children, Derika and Alana, his brothers Danny, Jr. and Derrick, Sr., and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

The service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 202 at the Wilson & Kratzer Mortuaries Civic Center Chapel of Richmond, followed by a private burial.

The Gibson family is receiving friends for the wake on Monday, July 20, 2020 from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM PST at the chapel.
