Darlene Lorraine Edmonds, born on October 31, 1948, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 20, 2025, in Seattle, WA, at the age of 76.
Darlene was a vibrant spirit known for her fun-loving nature, warmth, and unwavering support for her family and friends. A great listener with a heart full of love, she dedicated her life to caring for those around her. Family meant everything to Darlene, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she cherished.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 56 years, William R. Edmonds; daughter Stephanie L. Ogle; son Stefan L. Edmonds and his wife Bonnie. She was proud to be called “Gran” by her six grandchildren, Brittany Ogle, Jordan Ogle, Peyton Ogle, O'neil Edwards, Deion Edmonds, and Gabrielle Edmonds; and great-granddaughter Mariah. She is also survived by her sister Jessica Bundrige and brothers Darryl and Brian Bundrige, along with nephew Rick Giles, niece Shadai Giles, and nephew Sean Edwards, all from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Darlene was predeceased by her father Leo Trent Jr., mother Berta Mae Cureton Bundrige, brother Leo Trent III, and sisters Brenda Giles and Michelle Edwards.
A proud graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1966, Darlene also attended Sawyer Business School in Pittsburgh, PA and Kelley Business School in Bellevue, WA. Throughout her varied work life, she was a "Jill of many trades," contributing to fields ranging from electronic assembly to restaurant & retail customer service to office work & management.
Darlene was a member of the Kent Kingdom Hall and enjoyed a wide array of hobbies. She loved cooking, vacationing, playing Candy Crush and Bingo, and watching her favorite movies, including the many installments of the “Transformers,” “The Equalizer,” and “Madea” franchises. Music was also a passion and her musical taste encompassed many genres that ranged from The Temptations to Fleetwood Mac, Tupac to The Eagles with Charlie Wilson being one of her all-time favorites.
Darlene's kindness, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
