One of the best people I have ever met is a genuine friend, and I miss our conversations. He would call, and we would catch up as if no time had passed. From the Bush to Hawaii, we were only stationed together for a short period, but in that time, I made one of the best friends I've ever had.

In response to your question about how I first met Darjon, he was assigned to work in Staff Education and Training for Naval Health Clinic Hawaii. Although he had already worked in the dental half of the building for two years, I gave him a tour of the medical side and he expressed sincere gratitude for the tour stating that he had no idea that so many departments and services existed on the medical side. Always willing to learn, Darjon volunteered for my EKG interpretation classes. One of the corpsmen visited a local slaughterhouse and picked up pig hearts for us to dissect in class and Darjon's comments about the scent of fresh blood were absolutely hilarious. I will always remember Darjon's sense of humor as he approached everyday challenges in life. He had a gift for making all of us laugh and he was a delight to work with. Rest in peace, Darjon, we love you.
