Danny's obituary

Danny Phillip Puckett

Born: March 4th, 1959

Passed Away: March 30th, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Danny Phillip Puckett of Salyersville, KY, who left this world on March 30th, 2025 at the age of 66.  A loving father, grandfather, brother, son and friend, Danny’s impact on those around him will never be forgotten.

Danny was a proud father to his two daughters, Misty Puckett, Brittany (Matthew) Hayslip, and one son, Anthony (Stacy) Garguilo. He was a loving grandfather to his grandchildren, Alli Fyffe, Henry Hayslip, Danni Hayslip, Evelyn Puckett, AJ Tackett and Mary Garguilo. Danny is survived by his mother, Henrietta Puckett and his siblings Dave (Connie) Puckett, Darlene (Bunny) Chaffin, Ernie (Mary) Puckett, and Doug (Kathy) Puckett. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. His love for his family was evident to anyone who knew him.

A true free spirit, Danny was passionate about many things. He was a lifelong supporter of UK basketball, a fan of classic rock music, and someone who found joy in racing cars—whether as a participant or a spectator. He was never shy about sharing his opinions or his love for life. Danny was a social butterfly and he had a rare ability to make anyone feel welcome.

Danny’s stubbornness and strong opinions were part of his charm, making him a memorable presence in any conversation. But it was his heart—the biggest anyone could have—that truly defined him. He was the strongest person many of us will ever know, and his loyalty, resilience, and generosity left a lasting mark on all who knew and loved him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Lloyd M. Hall Community Center in Salyersville, KY on April 6th from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to join us in celebrating and sharing stories about his life.

Though he is no longer with us, Danny’s spirit will live on in the hearts of his family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
