Daniel M. Washer, a current resident of Lake Wales, FL and former resident of Walden, NY and Glen Wild, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 18, 2019. He was 69. Dan was born on January 2, 1950 in Newburgh, NY and grew up in Walden. Dan was a friend to many and known as Dan or Danny. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Colonel Bradley Hose Fire Department in Walden, NY and the Rock Hill Fire Department in Rock Hill, NY. Dan was proud of his service to both fire departments. Dan was a recent retiree from the State of Florida DOT where he worked for over two decades. Dan enjoyed classic cars, car shows, car cruises, wood working and spending time with his family. Dan was loved by all and his laugh and humor were contagious; he will be greatly missed. Dan is survived by his wife of 50 years (this September), Louanne Washer, his daughter Michelle Smith, son Jonathan Washer and son Christopher Washer. Dan is also survived by his sisters Sharon Huber and Sandy Schoonmaker and his brother, David Cable. Dan had several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to either the Colonel Bradley Hose Fire Department in Walden, NY or the Rock Hill Fire Department in Rock Hill, NY.
