Missing Dan's presence as I rake up all of the leaves. He was a pro a getting them all picked up and  I am not. So I have a lot of leaves in the yard. As winter approaches I hope for a good season and it will be quite lonely without him. I have a lot of new things to learn.

I learned a lot from Dan. For one thing, how important it is to care for your parents. He was always there for his folks. He brought them special treats and visited them daily. He picked up things from the store and did things around the trailer that needed doing. He never missed a day and sometimes visited twice a day. Once they were each in a different hospital at the same time so he visited each of them at their respective hospital. When the oxygen company didn't come through with enough oxygen for his Mom, he kept after them until they found a way to do that. I thought that was one of his most special qualities and loved him for it. He taught me that parents really like to be visited so I started to visit mine more often and never regretted a day of those visits, because when their time is gone, there is no way to make that up to them. Love ya' Danny!!

I was with Dan until it was time for him to go home. It was early Sunday morning, and the sun came up soon thereafter. I held his hand and prayed that his pain would soon be gone.
In response to "When was the last time you spent time with Daniel?"
Mostly he loved cars and worked on ours all the time, fixing, waxing and polishing and adding little items that would make them work better. He even did brake jobs in the driveway!!
In response to "What did Daniel love to do?"
I learned that Valentines Day was just great. He looked for the fanciest card he could find and added a box of candy and some roses every year without fail. Love you Dan!

We will miss you Dan. I was best friends with Danny during our time at Richfield High School. we were always together doing fun things. It was because of him that I got a motorcycle and we would ride together all the time. I remember the first day I got my bike and he took me down to the gravel pits in Edina and we had a blast. I will never forget you. We send all our love to you Grace and our prayers are with you.
Dan took great care of his parents. They wanted to stay in their home so he worked hard to make sure that happened. He would often bring them lunches and treats.
In response to "What act of kindness did you witness from Daniel?"
When we first started dating, Dan showed up with a record player and the "Sound of Music" sound track and then we went out to see the movie. It has remained a favorite movie through the years.
