Daniel Lee Preuss, 67, of Des Plaines, Illinois, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Madison, Tennessee, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 21, 1957, Daniel dedicated much of his life to the service industry, where he found joy in making food and bringing people together. He was an avid storyteller who always enjoyed a good joke and could bring a smile to anyone’s face. His kindness knew no bounds—he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Daniel also made time for what mattered most, whether it was attending church, or creating cherished memories with his family.

He had a passion for sports, always cheering on the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls—or really any game he could watch. But above all, he loved spending time with his family, sharing laughter, love, and unforgettable moments.

Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Renee Preuss of Madison, TN; his children, Sandy Molin, John Preuss, Krystle Kurszewski (husband Fred), and Kathryn Correa (husband Hector); and his beloved grandchildren, Angel, Tati, Gavin, Gabriel, Emma, Sofia, Na’imah, Matthew, and Abby. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on April 12, 2025, to honor Daniel’s memory. Details will be shared with family and friends.

Daniel’s warmth, humor, and generosity will forever remain in our hearts.
