Daniel Milan Poglajen of South Elgin, Illinois, born July 15, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois the son of late Milan, and Jessie Dolores (Detterbeck) Poglajen. On February 26, 2023 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village, Illinois he passed in peace with his loved ones around him.

Dan is survived by his four daughters and 16 grandchildren, Shannon (Scott) Thompson of Tigard, OR, their children Jace and Ella, Corrina Talo of Lake Geneva, WI, her children Destiny, Hannah, Laurana, Lucas and Logan, Rebecca (Trevor) Gibbs of Walworth, WI, their children Sera, Paige, Keeli, Silas, Tatum, Theo, and Risto, Aubrey (Joseph) Tempesta of North Prairie, WI, and their two children Zachary and Roy and sister Christine (Russ) Klug of Schiller Park and their 3 sons, Russ, John, and James, and grandchildren, his brother Rick (Karen) Poglajen of Bartlett and their son Ricky.

Dan loved his daughters and grandchildren. He held his pets dear to his heart through the years. Daniel was an avid Beatles fan and had a passion for playing the guitar and creating music. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and loved the time he was stationed in Spain. He lived a simple life as a manager at Walmart and spent 30 years with the company in various management positions.

Dan was in a loving relationship with Patricia Prange at the time of his passing. He loved spending time with Trish and her family (Kari Spranger and Pat Larsson). They aspired to move to Tennessee and retire together.

Military burial services will be held privately for immediate family only at Fort Sheridan National Cemetery. A celebration of life, including refreshments, will be held at Willow Creek Community Church, 38W133 Huntley Rd, Carpentersville. We invite all that join us to wear their favorite Beatles shirt or memoribilia to the services. Please reachout to family for details.
