Daniel's obituary
Daniel John O’Leary passed away on January 16, 2022 at his home in Chula Vista, California.
Dan was born on May 25, 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents David and Sheila. He grew up in Arizona, Tennessee, and Ohio and was raised by his mother and adopted father Fred, whom he affectionately called ‘Pop’. He ultimately took up residence in the San Diego area of Southern California after honorably serving in the United States Navy as a Fire Control Technician aboard the now-retired USS Jarrett, FFG-33 in the mid-1990s.
Dan was a graduate of Milford High School in Milford, Ohio, and the University of California, Berkeley Haas School of Business.
After his Navy career, he served as a business executive for a variety of San Diego-based engineering and manufacturing companies before opening his own consulting business.
Dan had a passion for fitness, music, and art, and could often be found strumming his guitar, listening to music, or painting. Dan also volunteered his time and resources to support the homeless as well as those affected by addiction and human trafficking in San Diego.
Dan is survived by his daughter Ainsley and son Peyton; his former spouse, Tiffany Lawrence-O’Leary; younger brother, Brent Hall; step-father, Fred Hall; mother Sheila Hall,; and father Dave O’Leary. He was preceded in death by his older brother David, who died in January of 2017.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations are made in his honor to San Diego’s Alpha Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to ending homelessness through education, employment, sobriety, and stability.
