Daniel's obituary
Daniel McHale, Sr., a charismatic and loving man, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born on June 27, 1973, Daniel devoted his life to his family, held a successful career at Penn Dot until his retirement in 2013, and had an unending appreciation for life's simple joys.
After graduating from Bishop McDevitt High School in 1991, he first married Melissa Brightbill in 2000. This union blessed him with his treasured children. Unfortunately, by 2013, he and Melissa had parted ways. Daniel later married the love of his life, Tammy Daubert, in 2015. They remained devoted and inseparable until his passing.
He will forever be remembered as a man who enjoyed a good steak, homemade crab cakes, and homemade stuffing, washed down with a Wild Cherry Pepsi. Daniel, with an undying love for classic rock, was often lost in the tunes while cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Steelers and Penn State. He enjoyed playing Madden, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto. Daniel also found great delight in watching his favorite shows like Cops, Sons of Anarchy, Mash, and films like Stepbrothers, Eragon and, among many others.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Tammy Daubert; his children Dani and Colleen McHale; siblings John McHale, Sharon McHale-Cowher, and Mike McHale; Brother-in-law, Michael Cowher; Sisters-in-law Debbie McHale and Nat McHale, nieces Mary Kate Mitchell, Bridget Cowher, and Jackie McHale; Nephew, Dylan Cowher; Cousins John McHale, Tom McHale, and Eddie Lavelle; and Aunt, Rita McHale. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Suzanne McHale, his brother Peter McHale, JR; Aunts Dorothea, and Mary Ann McHale;his uncle, John McHale, and his ex-wife, Melissa Brightbill.
Daniel was full of life, a true joy to be around, and will be sorely missed. His comedic, friendly, and inclusive personality left lasting impressions. His life's lessons of respect and selflessness will forever be engraved into the hearts of his family and friends.
