Daniel's obituary
Daniel James McGraw, affectionately known as Danny, passed away due to heart failure on May 12, 2025, at his residence in Wellsburg, WV. He was born on June 19, 1960, in Seattle, Washington, and left this world at the age of 64, surrounded by the love of his family.
Danny grew up in Seattle, where he graduated from Garfield High School in 1977. He furthered his education at Bellview College, laying the groundwork for what would become a fulfilling career. After college, Danny dedicated many years to the steel industry, retiring from U.S. Steel in Pittsburgh. His hard work and commitment to his profession were only matched by his devotion to his family and his passion for his hobbies.
He married the love of his life, Sandy Lane, and together they raised three sons: Patrick, Jack, and Anthony McGraw. Danny was a family man at heart, and nothing brought him more joy than the time spent with his seven grandchildren, whom he adored. His role as a grandfather was one that he cherished deeply, and he took every opportunity to play and create lasting memories with them.
Danny's brothers, Johnathan and William McGraw, will remember him as a man of integrity and warmth, always ready with a word of encouragement or a helping hand. As a family, they shared many moments that will now be cherished as precious memories.
Outside of his family life, Danny was an avid bird watcher. He found great solace in the tranquility of nature and the company of feathered friends. Additionally, he had a remarkable talent for painting classic cars, a hobby that allowed him to combine his artistic flair with his love for vintage automobiles.
Throughout his life, Danny was known for his kind-heartedness, his jovial spirit, and his unwavering support for those he loved. His presence was a source of stability and joy for his family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In respect to Dannys wishes, he will be green buried in Penn Forest National Burial Park. A memorial in honor of Daniel will be held privately, for family and friends Saturday 5/17/25.
