Bob Bennett - I was heartbroken when the news came of Danny Boy's passing. He was a great story teller but also a good listener. We would spend countless hours trading old stories and current events till the we hours of the morning over a glass of wine or two or three much to Louise's dismay. Time went by so fast. Another famous saying he had when he was asked how he was in a pub or restaurant was "Turned on and Excited"!! He loved music and socializing with family and friends. He was a true friend and I will miss him dearly.
Wonderful memories of our vacations in Maui and Kauaii,as well as several winters in Mexico.Danny was a very special man with good looks and a special charm. Louise and Danny were always a pair-you never saw them very much apart!Total soulmates-together for 52 years.Feel very blessed to have known them both for30 years. Thinking of the good times often and so sorry that chapter of our lives is over.Love you always,Danny, and hope you are in a better place!
I am so saddened and sorry to hear of Dan’s passing. He really was such a kind, funny and truly present human being. Always something nice to say and he just had a way of making you feel good. My heart goes out to you all.
Louise, Genevieve, Danno, We are so saddened to hear of Dan’s passing. His infectious personality and great smile will always be remembered. Love to you and your families in this difficult time. Nate and Kim
Bryan Mahoney The first time I met Danny Boy was in the mid 60’s when his sister Kathleen arranged for me to meet him over drinks at the classy cocktail lounge at the once famous Tradewinds Hotel on Mcleod Trail in Calgary. As we awaited his arrival I was a bit nervous about meeting him and also about the price of the drinks in this cocktail lounge. Soon I see this guy on all fours crawling on the carpeted floor barking like a dog! Arriving at our table he got vertical, bowed to the bewildered patrons and smiled the Danny Boy smile at me and said “Hi - I’m Danny” I thought “I like this guy” and we went on the share drinks and laughs for more than 50 years. Cheers my friend- there’ll never be another you.
My deepest and most heartfelt thoughts are with Louise, Dan Jr, Genevieve, and all the grandkids. Your husband, father and grandfather was a gem, with a genuine sparkle and twinkle in his eye. He always carried a positive message with him, and he had a wise and timeless perspective on life's happenings. He would often reminisce of some of the classic memories and stories he had, and with the most humble tone, would always revert back and tip his hat to how proud he was of Dan and Gen and the kids. With a golden smile that often spoke a thousand words, he had a zest for life and lived in a monumental way. Dan Sr. is a testament to living your best life. He will be deeply missed and his spirit is as noble as it gets. God bless his heart, Rest in Paradise my man.

My condolences to you and family Louise. I enjoyed getting to know Danny since you moved to Kelowa. He truly was a high spirited man who loved his family and loved life. God bless you and may Danny rest in eternal peace with the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Dan touched our lives in his enigmatic way as we were introduced through our son Roy who predeceased Dan and loved him so very much . Dan was his friend and mentor filling a void Roy had with the early passing of his own father! We have special memories being hosted at Blaylock and enjoying a great Dan produced breakfast and then touring the estate. Sending much love and sympathy to the whole family. Marion and Norm

Dan’s infectious smile is forever ingrained in my memory. He truly had a happy heart and I enjoyed every minute with him. My only regret is that I did not stay in closer contact with him, and for that I am sorry. He was well loved and will be missed by everyone he touched. On behalf of myself and my family (Lisa, Tyson, Jude & Luke) we send our sincere condolences to the McGauley family.
