DANIEL's obituary
Born June 12, 1945, in Framingham, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late James and Catherine (Pickett) Mabie. Dan learned tree care and maintenance from his father, and worked on a tree crew after graduating from high school. Years later he relocated to New York, where he worked for the Hoover Company. He finally settled in Orange County, California, where he met and married the love of his life, Vicki. Together they owned and operated Heritage Landscape & Tree Service for 33 years.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki and daughter Bridget of Huntington Beach, California; sons (from previous marriages) Greg Gera of Marlboro, Massachusetts; Derek (Joan) Gera of Boylston, Massachusetts; Danny (Sarah) Mabie of Milford, Pennsylvania; Dean (Joan) Mabie of Middletown, New York; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann Olszewski of Weston, Massachusetts; 7 nieces and nephews; and his two dogs Buddy and Sophie.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Betty and her husband Chandler Sinnott; his brother Richard Mabie; brother-in-law Bernie Olszewski; nephew Richard Mabie, and niece Cathy Mabie.
A private funeral mass will be held at Saint Simon and Jude Catholic Church in Huntington Beach. A celebration of life reception will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
