Daniel's obituary

Daniel Lefebvre

February 9, 1958 – March 7, 2025

With sorrow, we announce the passing of Daniel Lefebvre, who departed this life on March 7, 2025, at 3 p.m., after a brief but difficult battle with pancreatic cancer. He passed peacefully in the palliative care unit of the Centre Hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal, receiving compassionate care in his final moments.

Born on February 9, 1958, Daniel was the son of the late Roger Lefebvre and the late Sonia Layette. His early years were marked by change, as his parents parted when he was just three years old. He was raised for much of his childhood by his aunt, the late Irène Vallières, who provided him with care and guidance during those formative years.

At the age of 17, Daniel joined the Canadian Forces where he served with pride from November 1975 through August 1992. His military career gave him the opportunity to explore the world, taking him to the Netherlands, Germany, France, Egypt, and the Philippines. Among the many places he visited, he said before he passed that Lahr, Germany remained the most special to him, as it was the birthplace of his first child.

Upon reflection on his life, Daniel found that his happiest memories were the times he spent with his three children. Those moments brought him the greatest joy.

Daniel is survived by his beloved Linda Lacelle, his children Christabelle (Mark), Jean-Pierre, and Liana (Brian), and his grandchildren Luke Wilde, Jack Wilde, and Olivia Prendingue.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff who provided Daniel with care and comfort in his final days. Special gratitude is due to Linda Lacelle, whose devotion and care accompanied Daniel through his final journey.

A Catholic funeral Mass will be arranged at a later date, where prayers will be offered for the repose of his soul. May he now find rest in the arms of our Heavenly Father, reunited with those who have gone before him, and watching over those he leaves behind. Requiescat in pace.

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted." — Matthew 5:4

Daniel Lefebvre

Requiescat in pace.

"Heureux ceux qui pleurent, car ils seront consolés." — Matthieu 5:4
