Daniel Joseph Ledwig passed away surrounded by loved ones, on August 17, 2022, at the age of 72. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Daniel came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.

Daniel was born in Amarillo, Texas in 1950, and was the first born of nine children. At the age of 13, his family moved to Winnemucca, Nevada and then to Portola, California, a few years later. Although Daniel loved and appreciated the small town feels and all that Portola had to offer, his heart always belonged back in Texas.

In passing, Daniel is survived by his children Conrad Ledwig and Alisha McIntyre, his stepdaughter Kareen Schaede, and his grandchildren Penelope McIntyre and Emileo McIntyre. He also leaves behind his siblings Beth Brubaker (Richard), Rachael Brubaker (Tim), Debbie Rizzo (Chuck), Martha Pitts (Neil), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel is preceded in death by his father Jack Ledwig, his mother Mary Jo Leigh, brothers Jack Ledwig Jr. and Lance Ledwig, and sisters Katie Ledwig, and Rebekah Ledwig.

Daniel’s smile, love of music, passion for old friends, sense of humor, story-telling abilities, sarcasm, and loveable ways will forever be missed. Celebration of life TBD.
