Daniel's obituary

Daniel John Shea, 63, of Blaine, Minnesota, passed away on January 29th, 2022 with his daughter by his side after a difficult battle with complications from Covid-19. Dan was born on January 30th, 1958 to Connie Root in Elmira, New York. He spent most of his childhood in Houston, Texas and would say that is where he grew up. He joined the Navy in his early 20's. After a few years, he decided to switch to the Army Reserves. He permanently moved to Minnesota in the early 80's where he started his career in the cable industry while in the reserves. He spent over 35 years in the industry in various roles including as a Learning & Development Instructor. He especially loved that work because he was able to teach and share his knowledge with others. He proudly gave over 20 years of service to the Military and was called into active duty and deployed during The Gulf War/Desert Storm in '90 - '91. His favorite position of all though would be as "Dad" to his daughters, Bryna and Brittany.

In his free time, he loved spending time out in the sun. He loved grilling in the backyard, going to his favorite lake, and he even enjoyed doing yard work and keeping his yard looking immaculate. He was just about as patriotic as they come, proud to be a Veteran and loved just about anything with an American flag on it. He had a love of fast cars and motorcycles. His latest project was a mint 81' TransAm--just like one he had when he was younger. He had a soft spot for all animals and rescued his dog CJ in 2017. In late 2021, he got a puppy to be her "partner in crime". They were spoiled with treats and unconditional love. Above all, Dan loved spending time with his family and especially the most recent addition, his grandaughter, Bryna, named after his late daughter. He lit up anytime she was around and could never get enough photos or videos when she was away. He loved to dance and crank the music loud, he let loose and really lived in those moments. He will be remembered for his inside jokes, infectious laugh, along with his huge heart and generosity.
