I did not know Dan well, but I always enjoyed being in his company. It seemed to me that he was easygoing and had a good sense of humor, in addition to being a good golfer. One little thing I remember about Dan is that he could raise a golf club over his head with one hand at each end and easily lower it behind his head all the way to his back. This impressed me because I cannot do it now and don't recall ever being able to do it. I was sorry to hear that he had died, but I am glad to have known him.
