It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel "Dan the Man" Hershey who departed this life on September 20, 2024. Born on May 19, 1961, Daniel was a vibrant soul, known for his friendly, polite, and easygoing nature. He was fondly known as 'Dan the Man' although he preferred Dan. Daniel will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Daniel graduated from Inland Lakes High School, Indian River, MI. in 1979. He started his career at Galaxy 2000 Inc. in 1981, where he cleaned aircraft for the US Air Force, later moving on to Mayville Engineering Company in 1995. Daniel was a diligent and hard-working individual, respected and admired by his colleagues.

Aside from his professional life, Daniel had a deep love for country music and enjoyed cheering on his favorite sports teams, the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. An avid golfer, he found joy and relaxation in the serene greens. His love for animals was evident in his unwavering support for organizations like ASPCA.

The best lesson Daniel had to share with those around him was the importance of being helpful to others. He was a man who loved his family and friends deeply, always placing their needs above his own. This will be part of his enduring legacy and a testament to the kind-hearted person he was.

Daniel was predeceased by his beloved brother, Fredrick Hershey, and his loving father and mother, William & Margaret  Hershey. His surviving brother, David Hershey, will continue to uphold Daniel's legacy in love and remembrance.

His departure has left a void that cannot be filled. The memories and moments shared with him will be cherished and his life celebrated. "Dan The Man”, as he was affectionately known, will be forever remembered and dearly missed.
