Honoring Daniel Hartong — A Fund for His Children, Memorial, and Legacy

Many of you have asked how you can support Daniel Hartong’s family or contribute in his memory. This fundraiser has been created to channel your generosity into causes that reflect the heart of who Daniel was and what he cared about.

Donations will be distributed in the following ways:

Daniel’s Children—A portion of the funds will be set aside for his children in bonds or treasury bills, which they can access when they are of age.

Memorial & Service Costs – Contributions will also help cover expenses related to Daniel’s celebration of life, with coordination from his sister, Allieson.

Donation to Kupu Hawaii—For those who want to give in Daniel’s honor to a cause he cared about, part of the funds can be directed to Kupu Hawaii, a nonprofit focused on empowering youth and preserving Hawai‘i’s natural environment. This cause resonated deeply with Daniel, who served as a Trail Steward at the Puna trailhead.
