Daniel's obituary

Daniel Granof died on November 8, 2025 in Los Angeles, CA from complications of Lymphoma.

Born in August 1970 in Silver Spring, MD to Helene (Schiff) Granof and Gene Granof, Daniel grew up in Bethesda, MD. He graduated magna cum laude from Hamilton College, with a major in music, and earned an MBA at UCLA. He ended up making Southern California his home.

Daniel’s professional career included posts at the Los Angeles Times Media Group, E! Entertainment Networks, and most recently as a Product Manager at AT&T.

One of Daniel’s true passions in life was music. He starred in his high school and college musical productions, and was a founding member of the storied In The Buff male acapella group. He also sang in local choirs and wrote and performed musical skits in weddings and other family celebrations

His most cherished role in life, however, was as a father to Zoё and Issac. Whether it was trips to the beach or ski slopes or coaching soccer or baseball, Daniel loved the time he spent with his children. He also enjoyed playing frisbee and spending summer vacations with both his children and large extended family in Bethany Beach, DE.

Survivors include his children, Zoё and Isaac and their mother Catherine Granof; his parents, Gene and Helene Granof of Bethesda, MD, his sisters Gail Granof Warner of Bethesda, MD and Julie Granof of Washington, DC, his brother-in-law, Seth Warner.
