Dan left us four years ago, and it still seems like just yesterday.  Every time I walk past his former office, for a second I expect to see him sitting there at his musical keyboard, or walking into the sanctuary to lead the music.  He was truly a blessing to our church, and to all who knew him.  Until we see you again on the other side, Dan, we will keep you in our hearts.....

Dan started a Bell Choir at church.  My daughter and I wanted to join but both of us were (and still are) music dunces.  Dan said it would be no big deal that we couldn't read music, etc.  Dan (AKA: Mr Patience) spent a lot of time working with the whole choir and most especially with the two of us.  We struggled but Dan, with all that talent, must have been crazy trying to get us to do some very basic things.  But guess what??  He got us through it.  We can actually say that we were in a Bell Choir!  It's a wonderful memory.

I met Dan when I was in high school. I was living with the pastor's family for a while. I got to know the Gibsons and spend time with them. Dan and I connected over music. We often played piano duets...so much fun! He was a true friend, and a blessing to many.
Besides being a dear friend, …
Besides being a dear friend, Dan did an outstanding job presiding over our daughter Sarah’s wedding in 2020.

Dan Gibson always had a smile for me when I saw him in the halls of either CRBC or CRCS. He was such a Godly example to all who knew him. A walking pillar for the Lord. He is already greatly missed.
In my experiences with Dan at Calvary Road - it was always very clear that he adored his family and his ministry.  His exuberant approach to his music was infectious, meticulous  and beautiful.  God is gaining an incredible musical talent and wonderful soul and I count myself as fortunate to have known such a man.    Sincere condolences to all his family and friends.
Pastor Dan was a wonderful Christian man who loved his Lord. Prayers sent to his wife and family and his passing was so unexpected and we are all heartbroken 😔. But trusting the Lord is especially needed at this time as we don’t understand God’s ways. But, the Bible tells us that God’s ways are not our ways. God knows what He is doing and He is always in control! Remember that after Dan went to heaven and saw Jesus, he would not want to return. God bless Alissa and his family.
With love, Debbie Cox
Dan Gibson was a great man and a fervent follower of Christ. I considered him my mentor and my teacher. I was constantly inspired by his love and commitment to worshipping the Lord. I know that I am stronger in my relation to God because of Dan; he accepted me into the choir with open arms and made me feel so at home! He gave me a family with which I could share my struggles and my triumphs. I will carry him with me for the rest of my life!

I met Dan at Bible Baptist Church, New Hartford, NY enjoying every minute he spent at the piano. We still enjoy the pulpit he renovated! Condolences to his family.
Dear Gibson Family,

It was an honor to have known Dan, he was so warm, kind and caring. His smile just lite up a room. Everytime, I would see him at Church we had a brief but caring conversation. My heart breaks to think, I will not see him again this side of heaven. I know God is in control and does not make any mistakes. I Praise God, that He (Dan) is in his presence and conducting the Heavenly choir right about now. I will continue to keep you all in my prayers as my entire family is praying for you all as well. God is good and able. Jude 24,25.

Love in Him,
Cheryl & Ed Jones
I thank our LORD that Dan Gibson was in our life. He had the special gift from the Holy Spirit to bring us out of the world and to the Throne of God at every service. Thank You LORD for Dan. I know he is filled with the joy of being with You and thank You for that. Please give peace to all who are grieved at the loss of his being with us at this time. May we honor his contribution to our lives by willfully stepping away from the world and gratefully and humbly stepping before Your Throne to honor You. Amen.

I am so sorry for your loss.  Our family has not been to CRBC since 2014 when we moved from Virginia, but what I remember most about Dan was his joy in leading worship.  Now he's with the Lord praising Him in His presence.  I am thinking of the joy he must be feeling now.  I will be praying for the Gibson family.

Dan Gibson was one of a kind. He was a talented man in many areas and will be greatly missed by our church family. Praying for his family. We love you all. "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints." Ps 116;15

Our lives are so very blessed by the sincere joy and example Dan is to us. Such a hole in our hearts missing his kind, heart and willing and serving spirit. Missing him our prayers uplift his family during this time of grief. Nothing separates us from the Love of Christ and his promise to be our strength during this time is our hope. See you again pastor Dan with our risen savior.
Our heart breaks for all who knew, loved and laughed with Dan. What a wonderful, giving and caring person. He will be missed by so many. Lifting the Gibson Family and CRBC family up in prayer.

I was so sorry to hear about Pastor Dan's passing. He was such an engaging person. I remember my first day at CRBC and watching Pastor Dan work his music magic on stage. I knew I wanted to be in the choir under his leadership. What an amazing minister of music he was. I've never met anyone like him. His smile was so infectious it lit up an entire room and I was blessed to have been in the choir for a short time.   His legacy will live on in so many of us and I just know he's leading a majestic choir in heaven.  RIP Pastor Dan.
