Danny's obituary

With profound sadness, we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved Daniel "Danny' Andrew Garza, 17, who left us far too soon on Friday, February 7, 2025. Danny was initially taken to St. John's Hospital, Illinois, then transferred to St. Louis Children's Hospital, Illinois, and eventually to Indianapolis, Indiana, for specialized care, where he fell asleep in death. Danny was a beloved son, brother, nephew, grandson, and friend. Danny's loving kindness, sweet demeanor, and warm spirit touched all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was truly an Innocent taken too soon from this life by all those who loved and adored him. Danny will be remembered for his infectious laugh, love for ice cream, peanut butter cups, and chicken nuggets, love for picking out new toys, playdates with his sisters, video games, and the unique light he brought into our lives. His memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved him.

Danny, who had Autism, faced his challenges with remarkable resilience. He refused to let his limitations define him or hold him back. His spirit of determination and perseverance was truly inspiring. His pure and innocent soul brought immense joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He lived his life with an extraordinary capacity for love and happiness. Danny was a Sophomore at Hanford High School in Richland, WA, and excelled in English, Science, and Math. Danny was also able to make some special friends at Hanford High School. You know who you are! Thank you for the happiness you gave our sweet boy! Danny attended Hanford High School until November 2024, when his mother, Kristin Pearl Griffin, and Stepfather, Steven Wayne Griffin, moved to Springfield, Illinois, Sangamon County.

Danny was born on Thursday, February 7, 2008, and was the beautiful son of Bernardino "Chano" Luciano and Kristin Pearl Garza. He was the beloved grandson of Bernardino Garza and Melissa Cooley-Garza. Sadly, in 2018, Danny's parents divorced. Our family is told that despite the separation and Kristin Pearl Griffin's no-contact request for our family, Danny continued to thrive and was a happy child. He loved and adored his mom, dad, brother and sisters, and extended family.

Danny leaves behind his Sisters Coraline and Penelope, his Aunts, Uncles, Tios, and Tias Erica, Armando, Robert, Michael, Maria, Diana, Guadalupe, Luciano, Joe, Alma, Vickie, and his cousins Tidus, Josh, Isabella, Emma, Annabelle, Jacob, Audrey, Michelle, Sebe, Guadelupe Jr., Evan, Jennifer, Ruby, Casimir, Jason, Stephan, Victoria, Gabriella, Maria and many more family members not mentioned.

Danny is preceded in death by his Tio Frank Garza, Ruben Garza, his Great-Grandmother Diane Ortiz, his Great-Great Abuela Victoria Gonzalez-Garza, and his Great-Great Abuelo Luciano Garza.

May Jehovah (Psalms 83:18) watch over you while you sleep, Danny (1 Thessalonians 4:13,14 & John 11:11, Isaiah 49:15). You are safe and sound, holding God's right hand (Isaiaha 41:10). We love you so much and cannot wait to see you again. To all those who tried to help Danny, please do not believe you have gone unnoticed. We believe angels directed you. Your love and support meant the world to Danny. Thank you so much! To Ms. Goolsby, thank you so much for contacting our family and informing us about Danny. May God bless you. Thank you so much! To AppleValleyNewsNow.com, thank you so much for airing Danny's story; we are very grateful! Our family thanks you all from the bottom of our hearts and asks that you say a prayer for Danny and that if you "See Something, Say Something," our vulnerable population needs our protection.
