My condolences to Daniel's family and all of his loved ones. I was shocked to hear the tragic news, he has been thought about and will for many years. Walking around the hill , going to uncle Charlie’s, going up into our old broken down carport apartment, going down the hill in the snow, him teaching me to drive a stick and he took me to my first and only school dance. There are so many memories , I have to apologize for not knowing this existed until now. I will always remember his smile and his laugh, mainly his smile.

My deepest sympathies to all of Dan's family and friends. I am the witness/truck driver referred to in the Seattle Times article (air brakes). Whatever I have to do to assist in the perpetrators prosecution, I will make myself available to see justice is served for Dan. God Speed.

Dan was my best friend I probably would have never made it to school on time if it wasn't for Dan he would walk to my house a mile the opposite direction of the bus and and wake me up almost every morning.. I will never forget those first couple of years up on the hill we all would meet up together as many as 15 of us either after school or throughout the summer we'd all hang out up at view sights listening to Bone thugs 2pac or some Brother Lynch mobbing up and down our road in his little white Toyota pissing off all the neighbors Dan even started a fight he showed up late to causing poor Kris Sexten to get the shit kicked out of him cause he took on the group on alone that Dan pissed off didn't slow Dan's driving down at all he was never in a bad mood he always was smiling and wanted everyone around him to be smiling too he was always down to help even if he ended up making a little Job into a much bigger one he was a great guy a great friend and a awesome brother and he will be forever missed and loved.
RIP BROTHER

I'm shocked beyond words, Dan was such a friendly and polite young man. My prayers are with you Shannon and family. Fly high Dan, I still picture you in your white pants and cool shades!

1996, Grandpa’s place
I think it was summer break and I was spending the week at grandma and grandpa’s. Grandma and grandpa went into town for some reason and me and Daniel were trying to find something to do... we found an empty gallon of milk in the burn barrel and thought since we didn’t have a football we could use it to play catch. We played for a while and he threw it high for me, I jumped to catch it and my hand landed on one of the metal pieces on the concrete. So... my hand is bleeding, I’m starting to freak out and Daniel took me inside to clean it up. When he said he was going to clean it up and wrap it up I thought he meant soap and water or peroxide... he used alcohol and almost sent me through the roof. The thing is I remember my cousin as the “cool” guy and when he could he always helped his family as much as he could. Rest easy cuz.
I knew dan since the first grade we were inseparable we did everything together spent the night at each other’s houses I real got to know his family they treated me like family. He moved after the fourth grade and it sucked that I couldn’t hang out with him anymore. But in the eighth grade he moved back and I had my friend again for a few more years we hung out in till we left school. And I haven’t seen him since then I thought about him from time to time but when I got word he passed my heart ached cause now I won’t be able to see him again. I love you my brother see you soon.
Dan you will always be missed and loved. Still remember all the good times and bad lol. You were my little brother now your my little angel. Now you can tattle tell on us from above. Lol
Love and miss you!!!
You were one of my first friends, having a "big brother" was so cool to me. Even if you didn't live with us long. We always stayed in contact and would always be siblings. Love and miss you forever Daniel...
My little brother was a wonderful loving person. I will keep you alive by sharing are stories growing up together with my children. They will never forget you. You will live on... I hope you are at peace.
