Daniel's obituary

Daniel G. Prado passed away on November 14, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family and loved ones as was his wish.

Daniel was born in Guadalajara, Mexico to Daniel Prado and Maria Luisa Gallegos. He was the eldest to his three younger brothers Rafael, Javier, and Ernesto. In his early life, he served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service.

For much of his life, Daniel was a prominent fixture at the family’s restaurant, El Pollero 95. Last year, Daniel was grateful to celebrate his 80th birthday surrounded by family and friends.

Daniel was a loyal Chivas soccer fan and was a goalie when he played in his youth. He found joy in using his green thumb to tend to his garden, completing a new DIY project, creating the best decorated house on the block for Halloween and Christmas, testing his luck on lotto scratchers, and telling his latest jokes to everyone who would listen.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 55 years Virginia, his five children Daniel (wife Jen), Cynthia (husband Jamal), Gabriel (wife Clarisse), Erick (husband Greg), and Alejandro (wife Andrea), his many grandchildren, Sa’Amir (wife Yajaira), Milla, Sophia (wife Ash), Ari, Diego, Mathias, Ezra, Micah, AJ, Miles, Vincent, and Cooper, and two great grandchildren Amaar and Asha. To his family and friends he’ll be remembered as Corazón, Varita de Nardo, Danny, Pops, Buelo, and Lolo.
