Sorry to hear of Dan’s passing.  I have many fond memories of our time together in basic training at Fort Lewis, WN and our tour together on the same armored vehicle in Vietnam, where I taught him a lot of English and I learned a lot of Spanish along the way.  We both were wounded in the same enemy mortar attack near DakTo, and we received the Purple Heart for our wounds.

       I then located him in California, after about 50 years, and made 2 visits to LA and met his lovely wife, Virginia, and family.
