Dan's obituary

Daniel "Dan" Edstrom, a man known for his caring and social nature, was born on January 11, 1937, and passed away on May 27, 2025. Dan is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Diane Edstrom, whom he married in 1959. He also leaves behind his sons, Michael and Erik Edstrom, and brother, Jack Edstrom.

Dan was a proud grandfather to Kirsten Edstrom, Ashley Geary, Meghan Schneider, and April McHale, who will remember him with fondness. He was predeceased by his father, John Edstrom Jr., his mother, Helen Edstrom (nee Burdett), his brother, Wilbur Edstrom, and his sister, Helen Carlson.

Throughout his life, Dan had a passion for physical activities, regularly walking his dog, Babe, who will certainly miss him. He also had a penchant for cutting and splitting firewood. His favorite local spot was the peaceful 6th Crow Wing Lake in Nevis, MN. As an avid fan of Minnesota Vikings and the Twins, he never missed a game.

Dan was deeply committed to causes he cared about, and worked tirelessly for Animal Rescue. He retired in 1999 after a fulfilling career with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. His colleagues remember him as a dedicated professional, always ready to lend a hand.

A viewing for Dan will be held on June 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Cross of Glory Lutheran Church, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 AM, and a reception at 12:00 PM. Please join us to pay tribute to Dan's generous life and share memories of his irresistible charisma and warm heart.
