Daniel's obituary

Daniel Adam Davis was brought into this world on September 29, 1994, to loving parents Steve and Susan at Torrance Memorial Hospital. At 27 years of age, he was taken from us unexpectedly on October 25, 2021, in a fatal car accident. We are devastated by this loss and completely unprepared for life without him.  It brings us such sorrow that he was not able to live out more years and accomplish more great things.

From day one, Daniel immediately filled the lives of those around him with laughter and smiles. Daniel graduated from Martin Luther King High School in 2012 and went on to pursue a degree in Engineering at California Baptist University. After a couple years of schooling and various jobs, Daniel eventually joined our parents in their move to Merced, CA  and began working at Merced Country Club, which he quickly learned to love. A few years down the road, he relocated to a larger property in Cathey's Valley, CA alongside our parents. Although this new area was seemingly a bit isolated, it brought him closer to the outdoors, which also brought him great joy and a new found love for travel. Whether he spent many hours in his creative state 3D printing a cell phone stand, creating wooden outdoor gym equipment during the pandemic, or researching anything he found interesting in the slightest, he had great passion and it was quite obvious to anyone who came in contact with him.

This time alone that he experienced helped him develop an even closer bond with his K9 companion, Korra.  Korra was the center of Daniel's world, whom he took great care of and loved so deeply.  He enjoyed taking her to a nearby river where they cooled off in those hot summer days and where he taught her to jump in and swim after him.  His dog was a big part of his world, along with road trips and travel. After purchasing his first brand new car, Daniel gained the freedom he’d been looking for. He, a few months back, had dedicated 2 weeks to an incredible road trip around the west coast and neighboring states.  He planned that trip with great intent and detail, down to the minute, practically. We can be sure that he, during this trip, was in a state of bliss and on cloud 9, after hearing countless stories and playing back his documented videos.

Daniel was a thoughtful and caring son, brother, uncle, and dog owner, who adored spending time with his family. He always made sure to give all and any help he could to our our parents with tending the land, our mother's  garden, and our father's land builds. Over the past few years, it was clear that Daniel had gained a newfound passion for life. Seeing Daniel talk about his future plans and the excitement he had truly warmed our hearts to see how much he had evolved as a young man.

Daniel's loving and caring presence will forever be missed; this family will forever be missing our perfect puzzle piece. He has a very special place in all our hearts and there will not be a day that goes by without us thinking of him. We have received an immense outpour of love and support, and want to thank each and every one of you for all you have given.
