I did not know Daniel personally, but heard much about him through my best friend. As soon as he was first mentioned to me, it was extremely clear that Daniel was a special soul. My best friend loved him with his whole heart and spoke often about how caring, kind, and genuine he was. I’m very grateful to Daniel for the positive impact he had on my best friend’s life. I know in my heart he had a similar impact on many.
Danny and I were inseparable my first summer working at Hidden Valley Camp. He was an incredibly loyal friend and caring person, and I don't know what I would have done without him that summer.
Daniel was a camper at Hidden Valley Camp for 8 summers, and then returned as a staff member after High School. Daniel was always a caring and compassionate individual, both in his youth, and as an adult. His empathetic approach to life and subtle sense of humor were much appreciated in the camp environment. We will miss you!
I met Dakota in the rooms. He asked me if I would sponsor him and I did. Dakota had an infectious laugh and very loving heart. I remember his birthday. He said it was not a big deal. I told him yes it is. Black Forest Cake, his favorite. I showed up to his program with a cake. We made his day a big deal. I miss him but I know he’s in a better place. Before we’d end a call, I’d say, be good to yourself and take care of you. I love you kid. Love you too, he’d say. Love is forever. See you on the other side. ❤️
I met Daniel in Mauritius, he came on holiday with his father and grand mother. We had loads of fun and plenty of laughs, he was full of energy and life.
He instantly came across as deeply caring and sensitive, he had a great sense of humor and was extremely courteous and helpful. My two young sons were constantly nagging to play with him and he was so patient and kind to them.
So very sad that such a beautiful soul has left us so early. May he find peace, and his family take comfort that he is in a good place.
I, meet Dakota while I’m sober living and He was truly a blessing , he pulled me out of this depression I was going through ! Having him around really made me fell ok again , me and Dakota would get up early in the morning and read pages 60-63 and the daily reflection, this one morning we could not stop talking with a southern accent, we laughed so hard I fell out of the chair and Dakota spit iced coffee all over me ! I have not laughed that hard in so long to think of it I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard since ,the days and the late night movies together I will never forget ! With all my love you will be missed and never forgotten your friend Charles
