Daniel's obituary

Born in Leetonia, Ohio in 1937, Daniel Frederick Cushing's life ended on 12/31/2022; after a short illness. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna Cushing (Casey), his 4 children, Sharon , FredThompson, Karla and Kim; as well as 3 stepchildren Debbie Smith (Kramer), Cindy McGilvrey (Kramer), and Diane Kramer.

He had an outstanding career in the US Navy for 20 years, excelling in Sonar Acoustics. He retired in 1976 in Jacksonville, FL. Soon after he accepted a position at BBN (Crystal City, VA), once again excelling at his chosen career.

1998 Dan retired and moved to a beloved vacation area of Naples, FL with his wife Donna. A bucket list item for Dan and Donna was to visit every state in the United States, they succeeded. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2022.

He was a true adventurer. He introduced my sisters and myself to many things over the years from tacos as children to the 3 hour dining experience, as adults. He showed us life is to be lived, traveled, felt, and most importantly to learn from experiences. He introduced me to how a gentleman rolls throughout the world.

The sadness I feel writing this is transforming to gratefulness. I am grateful I have this man in my life. Dan I know you are resting in peace, for you had peace in your heart.

“My Darling Dan, I will love you until the end of time. You loved me and made my life full of adventures”. I Love you, Your Sweetheart Donna.

“I love you Dan and will miss you everyday. See ya Soon! Love Diane.

“I would like to say , it was a great honor to have him as a father. He gave/left me with many wonderful memories I will always cherish”. Cindy.

“Great Grampa Cushing was a good Grampa, he's in good hands with Jesus our Lord”. Rylan.
