Daniel's obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel "Danny" Cota, who departed this life on May 9, 2023, just a few days shy of his 69th birthday. Although some knew him as Daniel, he preferred to be called Dan, or Danny.  Born on May 12, 1954, Dan's memory will be cherished by his surviving family members, including Daughters, Monique Billingsley, Irma Alarcon, his grandchildren Jesse and Ellie Billingsley, Teddy and Tommy Alarcon, and Rebecca Ramirez, his Father Ben Costantino, his Step Mother Joan Costantino, his Step Father Jerry Rogers,  and his sisters, Chris Meza, Sher Cardone, Julie Morales.

A Celebration of Life for Dan will take place on June 24, 2023, at 11:00AM at Bridge Calvary Chapel, where he enjoyed really learning about our Savior. Dan held a deep love for God and found joy in studying the Bible. His favorite book was the Bible itself, and he thoroughly enjoyed the TV show "The Chosen" and the movie "I Can Only Imagine."

Those who knew Dan will remember his love for  Pasta Alfredo, Mexican food, and Pepsi Zero, as well as his passion for baseball and support for his LA Dodgers. He enjoyed reading the Bible, cooking, and spending time in his favorite local spots, including his church and the beach (He always had his "San Diego Bag" packed). His favorite vacation destination was San Diego.  Dan always had a special place in his heart for causes related to helping the homeless, the sick, and people in need.

Described as loving, funny, kind, and spiritual, Dan's life was characterized by his devotion to his faith and his belief in eternal blessings through Jesus Christ. We knew he looked forward to the day he would be with the Holy Spirit and  be reunited with Mom and Son.  His greatest accomplishments were his children and his selfless care for others, often putting their needs before his own. Dan's legacy will be his kindness and the generosity of love. He was one of the kindest, most loving individuals, treating everyone he met as a "Brother" or "Angel," even strangers.

As we remember Dan, let us celebrate the life he lived and carry forward the valuable lessons and love he shared with us all. Rest in peace, Daniel "Danny" Cota. You will be dearly missed.
