Dan had an amazing sense of humor, he loved to tell jokes and had a quick wit. Even towards the end of his life he kept that sense of humor. When his Cardiologist Dr Bob Hamburg visited Dan on his last day with us, Dan asked him that when he heard of his death to put EOS at the end of his file, Dr Bob asked what does EOS mean and Dan said "End of Story". Dan was an amazing man, he loved life and he will be greatly missed by all that really knew him. Dan had a heart as big as all out doors, he would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back to those who needed help. He was proud of his service to this country and like a lot of us wishes he had stayed in the Navy. He loved to get on his motorcycle and hit the road, he felt most at home with the wind in his face and the sound of the motorcycle in his ear. To him riding was being free, of flying through the air and feeling the sun on his face, we had so many adventures on the road and when he could no longer ride he found another way to feel that freedom. We traveled by ship, by motorhome and by car and he was able to find satisfaction and adventure even though he could not be on his motorcycle. He got to travel to places he always wanted to go and saw sights he only thought he'd see in pictures. How Dan loved life and how I am going to miss him, but I am going to try and finish what we started and continue our travels to the places we wanted to see together. So Dan's story hasn't really ended, he's just on another road.
