Daniel's obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Daniel Agcaoili, who left us peacefully on June 4, 2023. Born on April 10, 1939, to parents Patricio Agcaoili and Lucia Reyes in Manila, Philippines, Daniel led a life marked by dedication, resilience, and boundless love.
Daniel began his professional life as an architect, showcasing his creativity and architectural prowess. This same innate curiosity led him to tinker with everything, always eager to understand how things worked. His systematic approach to life was his signature— figure out why it happened, come up with a way to fix it, and think about how to stop it from happening again, a testament to his analytical mind and resourcefulness.
His career later transitioned to a role in operations management at Mobil Petroleum Corporation in the 1970s, a time that also marked the beginning of his beautiful love story with his wife, Bernadette. Their union in 1970 blossomed into a family with three children—Patrick, Daniel Jr., and Ana Mae, extending further to his adoring grandchildren - Araceli, Gia, Adriel, Raniel, and Danica.
A man of varied interests, Daniel introduced his family to the exciting world of bowling in the mid-'80s, turning the bowling alley into a second home for his family. But it wasn't just the sports he adored; music held a special place in his heart. Known for his rendition of "Moon River," Daniel was a crooner who found joy in the melodies of Perry Como, Frank Sinatra, and Andy Williams.
In 1989, Daniel courageously migrated his family to Canada, a testament to his commitment to providing a prosperous life for his family. This decision remains a hallmark of his strength and selfless character.
Daniel will be fondly remembered for the Sunday family outings, complete with a church visit, lunches at Shakey's Pizza or Yung Kee Chinese Restaurant, and leisurely strolls at parks and shopping malls. His golden voice will forever echo in our memories as he sang along with the karaoke machine. Despite his initial silent demeanor, Daniel was a caring and helpful man, always ready to lend a hand to those in need.
Predeceased by his parents, Patricio and Lucia, Daniel's memory continues to guide and inspire us all, echoing the enduring power of commitment, resilience, and unwavering love. His life serves as a testament, encouraging us to pursue our dreams with courage and determination.
The family expresses deep gratitude for your condolences and kindness during this challenging time. May the story of Daniel's life inspire and guide us all in our own journeys.
