I called him Uncle Dan. He played a big role in getting me to join the Joint Heirs Choir. I cannot exhaust all I knew about him but I used His names to share who he was and how I knew Him.
Devoted. Uncle Dan was a devoted Joint Heir. A devoted Christian.
Available. He always made sure he was available whenever called upon for Ministry. Uncle Dan was committed to His service for the Lord. Joint heirs choir will not sound the same without our senior tenor.
Natural leader. He led by example. He inspired and encouraged.
Selfless, servant of the Country and above all servant of the Lord. He served with a passion. Even with his very busy schedules he would endeavor to attend practice even if he arrived 5minutes to the end at least he would be there and then drop us back to our homes. He never left you half way, he took you right to the door.
Exemplary and empathic. Uncle Dan always encouraged us to be hard working and compassionate. He stood for what was right.
Motivator and Mentor. He mentored and motivated the youth. He was so passionate about the youth and tried his best to guide and instill a God fearing lifestyle and behavior. St. John’s youth are a testimony to this.
Approachable. No matter what the situation, He was approachable. He listened, he advised, he guided and encouraged.
Magnanimous- generous, open handed, big hearted. I cannot talk about uncle Dan without mentioning this. He gave and he gave whole heartedly with love. He shared in both our sorrows and celebrations.
Born again. I guess those who knew Uncle Dan, knew his signature greeting…’okyalokoka? Wenenya ebibi?’ He was not ashamed of the gospel. He would preach to the market vendor or the pump attendant. He loved the Lord.
Optimistic- hopeful and confident about the future. He always said he would serve the Lord until He is called home. You LIVED for Jesus!! Rest well uncle Dan. What a celebration there is in heaven!
Auntie Dora and the girls, I pray that you will feel the warm embrace of the Lord, that He alone will fill this void. I pray for strength and comfort.
