  1. I still look at doctor’s pictures and it has failed to sink in that he has gone to be with the Lord. Doctor was extremely fun. He wasn’t like the fathers of some  of your friends that you’re afraid to speak to or interact with. He was free and fun and easy to talk to. He was always ready to give advise concerning anything and everything. I remember the night before my very first interview for a job. He was willing to help me wow the panel and he gave me tips on how to be the very best. I remember he kept asking me questions and he told me to think and think and think. He was always willing to help out and he did it so selflessly for the good of others. He always gave wise counsel at any opportunity he got and he did it with grace. He always witnessed for Christ and told of how he stood for him at even the most challenging moments. He was not willing to gain the world and lose his soul. He lived only to please his maker and I’m so sure God is so proud of the man that he was. He pursued holiness and righteousness. His house was open to people  just like his heart was. It’s really hard to believe that he is gone. But we thank God that we have hope of seeing him again. Aunt Dora and the girls, You may be broken but you know there’s hope of being reunited with doctor. May the angels receive you so gladly Doctor… You will dearly dearly be missed. You have lived a life that has left us with a serious challenge about how we live our own lives and we pray that we may learn to love the Lord as you did. We continue to pray for your dear family that God will strengthen them and give them courage to go through each day knowing that He is in control of all situations at all times. May they remember that all things that God plans are for their good and that we should always and always give thanks in all circumstances. It’s going to be a long journey but God loves you Aunt Dora and the girls so much that He is not going to forsake you even for a minute. He loves you and promises that nothing will separate you from his love and he means it so I pray that you will remember that God has not forsaken you. He continues to be with you. God provides new strength and mercy for each day and it doesn’t run out. Doctor, I will miss your friendship and your joy rides and your encouragement and your wisdom but I know that I will see you again very soon. Continue to rest with the Angels.

Dora and the girls,

The testimony for Christ that your loved one has left behind will continue to be a blessing to many.  Praying that God surrounds you with Hos comfort and encouragement.

Jennifer W Kigozi.

It is very sad to learn about the passing on of Dr. Daniel Semambo. Those who had the opportunity to work under his leadership as the Executive Director of NAGRC&DB should indeed be saddened by the loss. We thank God who gave him life, family, the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of our country and who has chosen to call him home.

He will be dearly missed and will be remembered, because he has been very significant to the paths of many. I will particularly remember him because he loved with a fatherly love, and he gave me the opportunity to grow while I worked. I owe most of my success to him, and I have kept him in my prayers because of his significance to my path. I kept in contact with Dr.Semambo and my last communication with him was on 25th December. He has always blessed and encouraged me as a father would encourage his own daughter and that was his leadership style. HE WAS A FATHER. He had a tough way of getting the best out of you, until you decide to be at peace with it. When I discovered that we both loved to sing, then I knew that I had an Executive Director, a father, and a colleague, who expected the best out of me.

I would propose a Dr. Daniel Semambo memorial scholarship, managed under NAGRC&DB, to support young veterinarians, animal scientists and laboratory technicians to advance in the study of livestock reproductive technologies, through further training and research, so that the gaps we still have, such as expertise in the application of MOET in livestock species and the use of ARTs in small ruminants will be filled. I will love to contribute to this initiative.

May the God whose mercy is bountiful rest his soul in Eternal Peace.

My sincere condolences and prayers are with the bereaved family.

Dear Dora and the Beautiful Girls. I am saddened to hear of Dan's passing. My Memories run to hearing His voice glide through the Cathedral Halls singing EKisa kyo Tekitegerekeka and It is Well with my soul. Thank you for sharing Him with the whole Nation. May the Lord comfort you deeper than the words that will be spoken this week. May the Lord defend you and hold you when all the events go quiet. May He whisper His deep words of comfort each day, year and decade and May you walk boldy knowing you will see Dr. DAN again and while we wait for that season, keep His legacy of love and service burning bright. To God be the Glory for the things He has done through Dr. Dan's life.

To the Rukare family, Mum and my Brothers Don, Dan, Sande and Derrick I know this is a huge loss. But Jesus is Faithful and bigger. We are praying for you as you stand in the gap to love on Dora and the Girls. May Jesus continue what he has been doing.

Heartfely condolences to the Semambo family and the Body of Christ. Our Nation has lost a Great Father, but we have a mandate, to write Dan's story and have many young people learn from Dan's legacy.

Rest in Peace Dr. Dan Semambo

Saturday Service: Celebrating the Life of the Late Daniel Kiwanuka Nelson Semambo

I was their page boy.

I was first introduced to Uncle Dan in Glasgow, he was a colleague and friend to my dad and Uncle Ndiku. And he also brought matoke to mum when we moved from Maxwell to Showbridge in Glasgow!

Uncle Semambo (or Themambo as my mum tells me I said it!) , was a force of life. From the hoot at the gate, you could tell Uncle Semambo has come to visit! Uncle Dan, drove to my parents' home, late at night to give his contribution to my wedding. It was only fit that Uncle Dan sang beautiful rendition of "In Christ Alone" at the wedding!

Mercy and I are forever grateful.

I am privileged to know Aunt Dora as my friend and Sunday School teacher, and was chosen to be their page-boy; I am convinced it is because of me that they found each other!

Uncle Dan, Uncle Themambo, my friend,

You lived, loudly, unapologetically,

Confident in your love for Christ,

Constant,

Always,

I will miss you my friend.

My father's friend.

Our friend.

Rest well Uncle Semambo.

Dr. DKN Ssemambo, you have rested at the least expected time. I clearly remember the gentle caring stranger I met about 8 years ago when you had come to drop one of the many “sons”. Your humility, positivity, integrity, the desire to see others succeed could come out. The passion to see a new transformed agricultural sector is all you ever wished for.

I still recall the many times we have had long discussions about the animal industry we’d want to see.  Late 2021, we met at Gayaza High as you were exiting while I was signing in, we discussed lots that we were to implement in 2022. That’s the last time we talked, you never picked phone calls again, and we tried all means to hear from you but never succeeded! Only to hear about your sudden death last Monday!

Here I am still reeling from the sudden death of a caring friend, mentor, and customer whose positivity was an inspiration for everyone you ever met. You never turned down any opportunity to meet new people and you were always there whenever needed. You did all you did with passion. I am humbled and touched by the time you have had here with us. You are such a person that we shall miss you always.

Memories of you will live on with me, your family, and your friends. If you were here with us today, I know you would be smiling. I am so blessed to have known you. Till we meet again!

Rest in Peace Musawo DKN!

My deepest condolences to all family members on the passing of Dr. Ssemambo . His love and commitment  to God and  those around him has given his life such immense meaning . He has run his race . He served the needs of others diligently , honestly and passionately. He is an example worth emulating.

I saw how committed and available he was for his daughters . Any day, at anytime and for anything. He denied himself many pleasures for the sake of fulfilling the needs of others, he is the true definition of selflessness and sacrifice.

Be comforted in the fact that for those in Christ, to live is Christ, and to die is gain .Because death has no sting, and the grave no victory, because God has already given us victory through  Christ Jesus , whom Dr.Ssemambo loved, served and believed.

I wish you God's  peaceful, comforting ,calming presence in what must be a deeply troubling time. God will perfect that which concerns all of You.

Measure His life in Love.

I vividly remember when I came into ABC in my 3rd year holiday and you welcomed me with a warm smile asking if I was saved?! I instantly became your dota.

You made me study the 3 week artificial insemination course for free. You later took me to Rwakitura to work on the President's Dairy herd as an inseminator for a whole month in my 4th year. This was the beginning of my success in the Veterinary field. I came back to work in NAGRC & DB after 5th year.

Your impeccable love for youth and paying special attention to girls made me stand out. You made sure every female Vet performed better than the males. You made us believe in ourselves. You believed in us by giving us tasks bigger than what our experiences in the field were. Thanks alot.

You selflessly worked around the clock to make sure NAGRC $ DB shines. You didnt take no for an answer. You always wanted us to think beyond the challenge infront of us. Whenever someone said they had a problem you corrected them saying it's just a challenge whose solution must be got.

I havent seen someone who keeps in touch with his employees like you.  You wished everyone of us well. You have driven many times to my place just to say hello.

The Gayaza Farm Camp has been your baby. Ever since I recieved the sad news of your demise, I kept wondering how I can still make you live. I got the answer while the Chairman SMACOBA gave a speech at St. John's church on 10th March 2022. I pledge to tirelessly work with youth in the Farm Camp like you did. Working closely with SMACK and Gayaza High School. I pray that God to gives me the courage and wisdom to execute these duties.

Your humility, integrity, reliability are virtues that I wish to emulate.

We shall greatly miss you Dr. DNK Ssemambo.

May you Rest in eternal Peace.

Dora, Nanjo, Kandi, Okwa, Nase, Naso and Nabi, the wider Semambo and Rukare families and friends, its our prayer that God's love and grace will abound during this time and in the years to come.

Dora and I met in S1 at Gayaza 39 years ago and developed a friendship that has stood the test of time through high school, college, getting married, starting families and being separated by thousands of miles. I was reflecting on the fact that almost 25 of the 39 years have been while she is married to Dan. I give thanks to God for the gift of Dan as her partner.. At their very joyous wedding celebration, several of us her peers were running around serving guests and cleaning up when we were stopped in our tracks and stood gaping as Dan serenaded Dora with the words of the song " You are flesh of my flesh" There was such adoration in his powerful voice as he sang to her " you are flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone there is no one closer....We are one....I do pledge my life to you forever and always..... I will take good care of you and shower you with praise..... I will stand right by your side.."

Dan kept those promises - each and every one of them through the years. He loved Dora. He loved his daughters.

He always warmly welcomed all of us her friends and our families into their home and made us feel at home. He counseled and advised and prayed for and with us.

When several of us Dora's friends later left Uganda for the US we got creative at keeping in touch in between our visits to Uganda because as a very busy working mother and wife, Dora did not do social media much however when we wanted to make sure all was well in her world we checked in with Dan and he always responded promptly and cheerfully giving us full updates and we were content that all was well in Dora's world.

Dan and Dora have raised wonderful daughters . To summarize, they are God fearing, strong, organized, very respectful, hard working and enterprising, determined young ladies.

Girls - May you find comfort in the words of the song "Because he lives I can face tomorrow, Because he lives all fear is gone, Because I know he holds the future."

The special message from my husband Ben Twin who ministered with your father in Joint Heirs and asked me to deliver is that he wants you to know your Dad's love abides with you and he would like you to imagine him singing to you the song If I could by Barbara Streisand.
