Jennifer and family,

Please accept our most sincere condolences. Dan was an outstanding individual with a great heart for students. We loved having him a member of our KSU School Counseling program. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Ken and Judy Hughey

Jennifer - We send our prayers and condolences. Danny was one of my favorite students, for real, because he saw the funny in every little thing. He was so kind and respectful; I'm not surprised by his choice for his life's work. Love to you all, Frank and Vici Jennings

I just cannot process that Dan is gone. He was my very first friend. We grew up in church together, in the same grade in school until they moved, and our families vacationed together many times. My heart breaks for Jen and the kids and the rest of the family. I'm so happy he is no longer in pain and in the presence of our heavenly Father. I am praying for peace and comfort during this sad journey. ~Jenny (Libby) Ottens

My favorite thing about DK was his sense of humor.  I always loved sitting at the back of the band room in the percussion section, with him cracking jokes the entire class.  I will always remember the sparkle in his eye as he tried to keep a straight face.
I worked with Dan at MATC and he was always such a great guy. He had a great sense of humor and could always make me laugh, even when I was down. We related on our auto immune illnesses together and our faith in God. He was one of the people that you actually could tell, he cared. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I know his family meant so much to him, as he always spoke of them kindly. Prayers for the family during this immensely difficult time.
I worked with Dan at MATC for several years and he was a great, sincere friend. Dan never hesitated to lend me a hand without me asking, he just knew I needed help. He and I had many conversations that included the love and dedication he had for his family and his faith. Dan would go play basketball or work out on his lunch hour and stated he needed to keep in shape so he could keep up with his kids and help them during their sports. Dan loved giving his strengths to others and could make you laugh especially when you were not having a great day. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family - Jeff and Tracy Geisler
DK and I went to Bethany College together. He was an amazing guy. To his family my condolences and prayers of peace! Much Love!

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Kirkpatrick's passing. I worked with him at JCHS. He was kind and compassionate with the students and light in a dark place. He will be missed. Your family is in our prayers as you endure this difficult time.

Jennifer, when I look back over the years of knowing and working with Dan so many words come to mind: caring, empathetic,  patient, honest, devoted, and genuinely kind.  He is one of my heroes.  Brenda, Haiden and I pray for you and your kids. Rob Edleston
