This is Dan Souza, a member of the Wednesday current events discussion group held weekly at the Community Center in Redding CT. Dan Heller was an active participant in this group and contributed greatly to the discussions. Dan was affectionately called Dan One and me, Dan Two, being junior in age and likely also in intellect. Dan was the only Republican in this Democrat dominated group. He was much respected and admired for always bravely sticking to his guns, asserting his beliefs despite being overwhelmingly outnumbered by folks on the left side of the ideological spectrum. For me, Dan was a wise person with great depth of life experiences which he shared with the group. I miss Dan and his presence at our discussions. Dan's name is periodically still invoked by the group when someone would chime in, where's the alternative view that Dan Heller would have represented? May Dan rest in peace as we remember him on his 94th.
