Dan's obituary

Dan Michael Grusenmeyer, age 64, of Englewood, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2025, while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, surrounded by family and friends. Born on February 22nd, 1961, Dan was a devoted father, husband, brother, and friend whose steady presence and unwavering love shaped the lives of all who knew him.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Shannon Grusenmeyer, his mother in law, Susan Flick, and by his four daughters and their families, who were the pride and joy of his life:

• Linda Owen and her family: Benjamin Owen (husband); grandchildren Caitlin Sanchez, Abigail Owen, and Faith Owen; grandson-in-law Raphael Sanchez; and great-granddaughter Valentina Sanchez.

• Kelly Plake and her family: Josh Plake (husband).

• Lyndsay Davidson and her family: Brandon Davidson (husband); grandchildren Carson Grusenmeyer-Davidson, Corey Wheeler, Hailey Davidson, and Skylar Messer.

• Emma Grusenmeyer and her significant other, Grant Umstot.

Dan is also survived by his siblings — brothers David (Sheila) Grusenmeyer and Dana (Carolyn) Grusenmeyer, and sisters Diana Kavy (Stan Kavy), Debbie Boylan (Ollie Boylan), and Darlene Clark (Joseph Clark). His sister in law, Shelli (Tim) Robbins — as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who loved him deeply.

Dan was preceded in death by his Father, Carl Grusenmeyer, and his Mother, Eva Grusenmeyer. His father-in-law, Marvin Flick and brother in law, Joseph (Joey) Flick. His brother in law, Stan Kavy. As well as his second born daughter, Laura, whom he lost as a newborn.

Dan will be remembered for his honesty, his stubborn humor, and the unique mix of strength and tenderness that made him unmistakably himself. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and in the countless memories of laughter, lessons, and love he leaves behind. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the impact he made will continue to shape and lift his family for generations.
