Just heard of the death of an old friend Richard van Gelder.

Many years ago I had the pleasure of being the maid of honor at his wedding to Joan a dear high school friend.

My sincere condolences to his son and daughter.

Lovingly,

Violet Lee Hunt

Im sick to my stomach i cant be there physically. Im here virtually, emotionally, all of it. She was my other mother and I loved her dearly. I have so SO many memories, but for now: Laurie, Kevin- I love you two. I’m with you now. There will never be another remotely like her. Thank you for making me part of the family since 1986 ❤️

Laurie and family, and all who loved Dalila, I am heartbroken to learn of Dalila's death. I was blessed to come to know  your mother at the Palo Alto SDA church. Above all else, Dalila was one of the kindest human beings I've ever known. She beamed with Jesus love, it came from her eyes, her smile and her generous heart. Seeing her bring  her precious people  whom she took such beautiful care of was an enormous blessing to all of us. We were witnessing Christ's love in action through your mother. She's going to be in the front of the line at the gates of heaven. Her love lingers on. Karen Kotoske

Dalila met me at SDA Mountain View church as she noticed I was visiting the church for the 1st time.

After few conversations she offered me to spend few days at her house so that I could be in a safer place.

Days with  great lessons about life, forgiveness, friendship, entrepreneurship, fun, hard work. I will never forget that.

We continue our friendship despite the distance.

What I love and will always remember about Dalila: her sensibility to other’s needs, love, kindness, generosity, honesty, joy, working hard, courage, intelligence, toughness, wisdom, resilience, and a strong faith in God as I saw her in very early routine of praying and exercising.

It is a huge loss not having her with us anymore but she will be definitely at 1st resurrection and I want to be prepared for that day.

“Dalila fought the good fight, she finished the race and kept the faith.

There is laid up for her the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to her on that Day.” Based on 2 Timothy 4: 7 & 8

My sincere and deepest sympathy for the family.

Sending my love and prayers.
