Dale's obituary
Dale Kerwin Mark, 97, longtime resident of Mesquite, TX went to be with our Lord on February 21, 2025. Dale was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 2, 1927 to Thomas and Neva Mark. He attended Henry Ford Trade School and Wayne State University and upon graduating enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard as World War 2 was coming to an end. He was stationed in Boston from 1945-1948 attending radio communications school and achieving the rank of 2nd Class Petty Officer. He did a tour on the USCGC Duane in the Atlantic. On March 12, 1955, Dale married his longtime sweetheart Eileen from the Detroit neighborhood where they both grew up. They lived in Boston while he was stationed with the coast guard. In 1959, their first child, Renee Louise was born. Discharged from the Coast Guard, Dale took a job with Honeywell in Boston and was transferred to Houston in 1961. In 1962 James Stacey Mark (Jim) was born and exactly one year later to the day, Bruce Gordon Mark was born. Dale worked 10 years with Honeywell, traveling the country maintaining their new breed of room-sized computers. In 1969 Dale took a job in Grand Prairie as a supervisor over a product support group with National Data Communications. After several years Dale went to work at AT&T’s manufacturing plant in Mesquite. He worked at AT&T until retirement in 1994, when he was 67 years old. He was involved in Webelos Scouts and took his young family on many adventures including camping, fishing, boating and water skiing. During retirement he enjoyed reading Texas history and traveling around Texas to make history come alive. Dale is proceeded in death by son Jim (8/5/2002) and survived by his wife Eileen, daughter Renee and husband Larry, daughter-in-law Alison, son Bruce and wife Karen. Dale and Eileen have ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren whom they loved spending time with, sharing their love of camping, boating and adventuring.
