Coach...I remember how much fun assemblies and wrestling matches were...and just hanging around laughing with you over Cokes and pommefrites. .
I was just thinking about Dale the other day. I miss him and remember all the great times I had with him.
Wow, I don't no were to start. Dale changed my life from loser to person with purpose. Met Dale in Baumholder Germany. He was my wrestling coach. Have to tell your family how he impacted my life.  Sorry I waited to long to reach out to him. I'm devastated. Really hard since Im only in Arizona. Please reach out to me. Would love to talk to you.

My condolences to Dale's family. I first met Dale when we worked at the Bureau of Reclamation, Administrative Services in Lakewood, CO. I met his first wife and children when they were little kids.

I met his partner and friend Suzanne when they started dating. I spoke to Dale on messenger and he was still always so upbeat and happy. He loved his children very much and of course Susie. I hadn’t heard from him in a few months and I asked a friend of mine if she had heard from Dale? Today, I found out why? I’m deeply saddened to hear of his passing and shocked. He was always excited about all of his adventures and loved skiing. We had talked about skiing together, but I have been dealing with knee issues and wasn’t able to yes yes. We  had talked about having lunch with other friends and I just couldn’t make it happen due to health issues.

Dale, I know you believed in God, and I know you are looking down on your family and friends and are happy and at peace.

I am so sorry that I was not able to visit with you one last time.

Rest in peace my friend.

Susie, I would love to talk to you. I’m deeply sorry for your loss. He told me that he was very happy with you.

Please call me 303-503-0985

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Rest in peace Dale. Love your cousins, Michael, Karen, Kimberly, Kevin, Karla, and Lisa Kestel.
This is very sad. I know Coach is resting. Well now may God continue to bless your family and friends. I knew coach from Baumholder American High School. We are the”BUCS”! I cheered and he coached the boys. I will always remember the way he laughed! You will be missed coach at peace in paradise!

Coach  and I shared many wonderful chats about life, our families, our faith and our health.  Coach walked closely with me during My Journey thru Tears and Tiaras.  He also would often tease me about a certain green eyed blonde wrestler from our Baumholder days. My last FaceTime with him was on Father's Day. We loved talking about our sons. I'm blessed to call him my friend and I pray for comfort for his loved ones during this time of mourning.

Dale was a well-loved and active member of the Stanton Farms Townhomes Community.   He was vibrant and full of life until the end.   We will miss his cheerful and loving spirit, and we send our kindest condolences, blessings, love, and prayers to you and your family during your time of mourning.

Sincerely,

J. Pamela Robinson

Neighbor and Friend of Dale Kestel

Ron remembers ski trips and traveling with Dale and Cyndy in Europe fondly. He still would call him his brother.
I was surprised and saddened with Dale’s unexpected passing. We have been friends for the last 30+ years and have shared many great times together. We got together over a burger and beers this summer and shared some laughs and talk about body aches and pains. We had a fun time, as always, which makes it even harder to believe he is gone. I will miss reminiscing with him about the road trips we took to the NCAA wrestling tournaments, the skiing trips, the late parties, the motorcycle rides, and the spontaneous adventures he was always ready to explore. He added joy and richness to my life and I will be forever grateful for his friendship. May he be in a place suited for his unique spirit.    My sincere condolences to all his loved ones.

Coach Kestel was a well liked and respected member of the faculty of Baumholder American High School,in Baumholder,West Germany (as it was at the time) from 1975-81 and was truth be told was quite the character!!! Even for those of us not involved in the Wrestling Program he was still the same guy I'm sure you all knew & loved. He was also active in our alumni reunions & get togethers, was in contact with many of us and he was looking forward to seeing us all at the next one. As we were looking forward to seeing him. His wit, humor, outgoing personality and his outlook toward life will be greatly missed by my fellow 'Buccaneers' who were privileged enough to know him.

We always talked about meeting up, even just a few weeks ago and between covid, our health and just life, we never did. Glad we got to talk and our calls were always interesting! I'm happy that you finally got to get up on the mountain...

My condolences to Coach Kestel’s family. I was introduced as a high school freshman and he was the coach of the wrestling team. His instruction and inspiration took me from scared 😳 freshman first timer, to best in Europe at 155lbs in my senior year. When I was competing, his voice was the only one I could hear. He coached me through lots of ups and downs and got me over some matches where I had already considered giving up. Through disappointment and victory, he always had my back.

He will be missed but he lived by his terms until the end. Prayers for strength to all he left behind, but if you knew him, he has just chosen a different venue to party on!!!

R.I.P. Coach
