Dakota's obituary

Dakota Deters passed away unexpectedly on August 05, 2020 at the age of [age], after [cause of death].

Born to Kelsi and John Deters on April 13, 1993. Dakota was  easy going as a baby. When he was just 2 years old, he loved being outside in the backyard with his brother, Christopher who was 10 years older. He followed his “Bubba” around, jumping on the trampoline and taking walks next door to feed our neighbors chickens. He loved sitting on his dad’s lap enjoying a book together or when his dad was seated at the piano for a song.

He was a brilliant student and in college, enrolled as an Environmental Studies major in Durango, CO.

Dakota loved all sports and played well as a ‘team’ player, encouraging others to work together.

Our family was not expecting the loss of Dakota or for their life to be cut so short so soon. We are devastated that he was taken too soon and will feel the absence of Dakota forever. We will also feel the love that he brought to each one of us.

He was a soulful steward of our Earth, caring about the soils, water, and encouraged others to learn ways to ensure that generations to come would have the joy he experienced while skiing or hiking or floating on the rivers.

He is forever loved and remembered by his mother Kelsi Deters, father, John Deters, brother, Christopher Konyha, brother, Tristan Deters, uncle Bob Parizo and Grandmother, Joni Haynes.

Extended family members in Texas, Louisiana, Maine and Tennessee are also joined by many friends in expressing their sorrow in saying goodbye to such a loving and kind young man.
