I just tonight heard of Cynthia's passing from my brother, Phillip, in Griffin. I'm heartbroken with this news. Cynthia and her family were our across-the-street neighbors when we moved to South Hill Street, from the third ward district, in Griffin, in 1960. She became a dear friend then, and in high school. I had lost track of Cynthia, but when I started working fire seasons as a lookout in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) in 2009, I heard that she was in Washington. I always hoped to track her down, and link up. I never got to tell Cynthia how much she lightened my life. She was such a bright-eyed, intelligent, beautiful young woman - last time I saw her.

I am broken hearted to hear of Cynthia's passing. She was one of my dearest friends and we shared many good times over our years together growing up in Griffin. I pray for her family, especially Lucinda, Fiona, Nancy and Reba and for our dear friend, Jane who was very close to Cynthia these past years. God bless all those who loved Cynthia with comfort and peace.
