Cyndy's obituary
With profound love and deep sadness, we share the passing of Cyndy Sharon Kopitsky, who departed this world peacefully on December 2, 2025 to enter the eternal kingdom of Heaven with her savior, Lord Jesus Christ. Born on December 12, 1954, Cyndy lived an incredible life and left behind a beautiful legacy, filling every day with purpose, compassion, and a radiant spirit that touched countless lives.
Cyndy was a woman of God whose faith shined so brightly through countless acts of kindness. She moved through life with a heart that never stopped giving, loving, caring for animals, and protecting the planet. Her work throughout her career with the Environmental Protection Agency reflected her lifelong commitment to stewardship and service. Whether she was advocating for the environment, comforting a struggling soul, or helping an animal in need, Cyndy’s love truly knew no bounds.
Her dedication to helping others took many forms throughout her life. She traveled to support relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, served on multiple mission trips with her church to help children in Haiti, volunteered at a dog rescue organization in Arizona, delivered Thanksgiving meals to families who needed a helping hand, and consistently supported numerous nonprofits, including the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and Best Friends Animal Society. Philanthropy was not just something Cyndy did, it was who she was.
Life wasn’t always easy for her, yet she persevered with grace and chose to lead with love every single time. Her beautiful light shined brightly in every room, every conversation, and every moment spent with those fortunate enough to know her. To simply be in Cyndy’s presence was to feel appreciated, valued, loved, and genuinely cared for.
Family was her greatest joy and deepest devotion. She loved her husband of more than twenty years, John, and her beloved sons Nick, Dorian, and Ryan, who were all truly the center of her world. Cyndy’s definition of family extended far beyond blood though, as she embraced each of her friends, neighbors, and even total strangers with a love that had no limits.
Cyndy is survived by her husband John, her three sons Nick, Dorian, and Ryan, and her brother Jay. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Shirley, and her brother Donny, all of whom she loved dearly.
