Curtis's obituary
He leaves his wife of 62 years, Grace Martin; his son, Thomas Martin (wife Dyanne); his daughter, Holly Altman (husband Joseph); and two grandchildren, Hannah Martin and Benjamin Martin.
Born in Aroostook County, Maine, Curtis’s family shortly thereafter moved to Rhode Island and carried on the family business of potato farming. Curtis grew up on the farm, working hard to make it a success. After he graduated from high school, he worked as a truck driver and then trained to become a machinist.
He married his childhood sweetheart, Grace, after many years of pursuing her heart. They had their two children and shortly thereafter moved to South Florida, where he began work for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft during the years of the Space Race and was involved in their work in the Apollo and other programs.
A devoted follower of Christ, he would always have an inspiring and heaven-directed word for all he would meet. He and Grace retired to a cabin in North Florida, where he restored antique cars and enjoyed traveling and visits from family and friends from around the country, who looked to him as a linchpin of the family and a source of wisdom and encouragement.
