Curtis's obituary

Curtis Wayne Ecker, 44 of Hagerstown, MD died March 18, 2025.

He was born in Martinsburg, WV, September 15, 1980, to Jay Thurber and Susan “Sue” Ecker Thorpe.

Curtis was preceded in death by his mother Sue Thorpe, grandparents Richard & Mildred Ecker, Everest & Vanetta Thurber, and is survived by his estranged wife, Amy Ecker, his children Jacob Ecker, Elizabeth Ecker, Kaitylynn Ecker, Matthew Ecker, and Savannah Ecker, his father, Jay Thurber [Pam], his siblings, Stephen Thurber [Elaine], Heather Hinkle, Terry Thurber [Brandi], Timothy Hunt, Daniel Hunt, Angela Thurber, Scott Thurber, and step siblings Robert Swope [Rachel], Haley Martell [Eric].

He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles that loved him dearly.

His loss was unexpected, and the family is deeply saddened. Everyone who knew Curtis knew that he loved his kids, his family, and the Redskins. His family and friends will miss him. 

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.

A celebration of life will occur on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at Calvery Temp Church in Williamsport, starting at 11:00am.
