Curtis Leon Bogan, 65, of Atlanta, Texas, passed away on October 10, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family at the time of his passing. Curtis was predeceased by his father Leroy Bogan, his mother Louise Lemley, his brother Calvin Bogan, his sister Teresa Jackson, and his sister Mirita Sanford. He is survived by his brothers Lee Bogan and Vincent Welch, his sisters Sue Welch, Rebecca Bobo, and LaRanda Burke, the love of his life Patricia Bogan, his grandson Joshua Jefferson, his step-children John Marcus Poole, Jeff Whiting, and Mandy Whiting, and many nieces, nephews and cousins he loved dearly. 

Curtis was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from July 1975 to April 1981, 4 years active duty and 2 years reserves. Curtis was an avid outdoorsman who loved being out in nature. He loved kayaking on Wright Patman Lake with his friends. He was also a talented artist who drew inspiration from nature. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 2:00PM at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, 104 N. Louise St, Atlanta, TX 75551. All his friends and family are welcome and encouraged to wear something Arkansas Razorbacks (or red & black).
