With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Crystal "Crys" Marie Gonzalez on September 26, 2023. Born on May 2, 1983, Crystal's vibrant spirit and hearty laughter left an unforgettable mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Crystal is survived by an extensive and loving family, including her mother, Anna L Perez; her father, Ivan Gonzalez; her siblings, Natashia Gonzalez, Jessica Williams, and Erica Gonzalez-Brown; her children, Alaija Santiago and Julian Ortiz; her grandson, Koa Hernandez. She was also a beloved aunt to Maya and Javier Mejias, Christopher and Kennedy Brown, and Dayshalie Castro. Her family circle further extended to her son-in-law, Brian Hernandez, brothers-in-law, Guy Williams and Jajuan Brown, her cousin, Amanda Perez, and all her adopted sisters, aunts, uncles, and friends that she welcomed into her heart, home and life. 

Blessed with a spirit full of joy and love, Crystal was a dedicated mother with a powerful belief in the strength and importance of family unity. Her children, Alaija and Julian, were her pride and joy, and some of her most significant accomplishments.

Crystal was an avid reader, with Sherrilynn Kenyon and Christine Feehan being two of her favorite authors. She enjoyed good food and had a particular liking for anything spicy. She had a love for games, especially those that could bring her family together for few hours of enjoyment and companionship. In her quiet moments, Crystal found solace in hiking and other outdoor adventures.

A woman of independent spirit and fierce determination, Crystal held a strong belief in the Humane Society and any non-profit organization that took care of animals. She passed on her deep respect for family and her independent spirit to those around her.

Crystal leaves behind an indelible legacy that will be carried forward through her children and grandchildren. Her unwavering strength, symbolized in her unforgettable mantra, "You are stronger than you believe and can handle anything. You've got this," will continue to inspire us.
